What's New?

The latest Trax largely carries over as the same model as last year's version of this small SUV, though a few new color schemes, Cypress Gray and Marina Blue Metallic, are now available, and this year's version can use E85 fuel for maximizing efficiency and performance. Last year's Trax saw some major changes, with a longer wheelbase that increased legroom and cargo space. Chevy also increased the number of standard features and trim level options and brought a new three-cylinder engine into the mix, changes that all carry over for the present-day Trax.

Trims

The new Chevy Trax is available in five trims found here at our dealership serving Lafayette, giving you several options to choose from.

LS: For high-end value at a low price, choose the base-level Trax, which is equipped with an infotainment touchscreen, wireless smartphone integration, an da full suite of Chevy driver aids like collision mitigation and lane departure warning.

1RS: Step up to the 1RS for your new Trax near Lafayette and you'll get a gloss-black exterior look, some other design tweaks, and a remote starting, among other additions from the LS option package.

LT: A larger touchscreen and a six-speaker audio system mark the key additions in the midrange edition of the new Chevy Trax.

2RS: The top two trims are priced and configured similarly, with the 2RS featuring larger alloy wheels and a sportier look.

Activ: Has slightly smaller wheels than the 2RS, but the Activ also adds a power driver's seat for maximum comfort.

Performance

The standard 1.2-liter turbocharged three-cylinder engine found in all Trax trim levels provides just enough pop to get you going around town in Lafayette. While its 137-horsepower output doesn't jump off the page, it provides a sensible, front-wheel-drive performance wherever you're going in the Lafayette area. With a max rating of 32 mpg on the highway, the new Trax is sensibly efficient for your daily commuting in and around Lafayette.

Design

Clean and simple is the name of the game when it comes to the overall design of the compact Chevy Trax. Its boxy frame and clever dimensions give you plenty of room for taller adults riding in the front or back and for all kinds of cargo. The soft seats make the Trax a great choice for comfortable long-range driving and riding as well.

Technology

Like other new models in our lineup, the Chevy Trax is absolutely loaded with smart tech features. A standard touchscreen offers clear and easy functions for infotainment, while wireless smartphone integration features like Apple CarPlay and Android Auto and a Wi-Fi hotspot make it easy to access music, apps, and more from your smartphone without needing to clutter your central console with cords and wires. In higher trims, you'll find a larger touchscreen and some other additions.

Safety

A huge part of the value of the new Trax is the standard suite of Chevy driver assist features. You'll get going with standard automatic braking and collision avoidance, lane departure warning and keeping assist, and automatic high beams. All trims of the Trax allow for the Driver Confidence package, which adds blind-spot warning and with rear cross-traffic alert and adaptive cruise control.
